Our blossoming portfolio features a new performing arts center as part of a city’s downtown revitalization, a landmark theatre renovation, an artsy cinema restoration, and a multi-sensory exhibit at Boston’s MFA. Our practice expands to address the facility planning needs of our clients to make better-informed strategic choices for their arts-centered spaces, and our talented musical artist and acoustician, Shelly Alfred, shines in the media spotlight.

Studio A at Acentech offers exploratory assessment services to clients embarking on performing arts facility initiatives. Our acoustics and audiovisual planning approach evaluates a facility or a group of facilities, maps our findings against the users’ needs and goals, and provides strategic recommendations for future capital projects and improvements.
Acoustician Shelly Alfred, is an award-winning artiste and songwriter for Signal Band, a Caribbean Bouyon music sensation!
Alfred’s musical journey featured in Harvard Magazine started with an elementary school calypso competition. His music and performance career grew while he was studying environmental design and architecture, and now his acoustical consulting role connects these two passions.
