Listen now to the auralization in Hearing is Believing on The Lab!
With a bit of planning—and help from generous donors—the Charles F. Knight Executive Education Center became the campus addition that will support the University’s continued growth. Acentech provided acoustics consulting for this 135,000 SF hub of executive education programs.
Acentech’s scope of services included acoustics consulting for seven classrooms, a breathtaking glass atrium, 300-seat auditorium, 75 faculty offices, as well as lounges and community spaces intended for educational collaboration. To support the design of the large, multi-functional forum and atrium space, the project utilized Acentech’s 3DListening® technology. The auralization services provided by Acentech enabled the client to make informed decisions about finishes, materials, and other design elements that can have a major impact on the auditory experience of people inside the building. This awareness particularly ensured that the forum and atrium spaces could meet the University’s needs.
The space was put to the test during the building’s grand opening. With over 800 attendees and a live band, it performed as well as expected.
